Shoko Zama began her study of Taiji and Qigong in Japan in 1980. She moved to Seattle in 1988 and met Madame Gao Fu in 1989, starting to study Chen Style Taiji with her. After she met Master Feng ZiQiang in 2000, he prompted her to study Hunyuan Chen Style in depth. Shoko has taught at Bellevue Community College for 13 years and has been teaching at the Taoist Studies Institute for 20 years. She also had studied Alexander Technique since 1989 and is an ATI-certified Alexander Technique teacher. She brings her unique skill of combining those two modalities to help students understand Taiji principles.
