Unfortunately, we had to cancel Theresa Elliott’s Yoga Dance workshop for Sunday, November 14th. Only four people were registered, and we need at least six.

So sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

We will ask her to come again in the Spring when she will lead us in learning parts of her lyrical Eventide composition.

The Benefits of your Yoga practice

We welcomed 36 new students to Yoga Circle Studio in September’s National Yoga month with our new student specials. I’m happy that we can introduce new people to this wholesome practice.

So many people know that Yoga is beneficial to anyone  at any stage of life. A consistent yoga practice provides physical, mental, and emotional benefits, such as:

  • Strengthens the body while building endurance
  • Increases flexibility
  • Develops better balance and coordination
  • Improves circulation
  • Helps align the spine for better posture
  • Slows the aging process
  • Stimulates the abdominal organs
  • Controls body weight
  • Heightens the senses
  • Energizes the immune and endocrine systems
  • Develops the respiratory organs
  • Reduces stress and encourages relaxation
  • Creates mental focus and internal  awareness
  • Enhances a sense of well being and  inner peace

When we are physically, mentally, and spiritually flexible and strong, we experience a sense of joy, emotional balance, and inner wisdom – the mind is quiet , confident, and the true self emerges.

Now that we start the fall season,  and so many are starting yoga, or starting yoga after some time off, I think about the power of commitment. A wonderful quote comes to mind:

“Until one is committed there is hesitance, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans. That the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.  All sorts of things occur to help one that would otherwise never have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no one could have dreamt would have come one’s way.”
