Zack began the workshop with a clear and entertaining talk about what is “yin yoga” – the deep internal tissue work that will change the body and mind. Then the class started with a wonderful warm-up exercise called “monkey retreat – monkey advance” that reminded the webteam of tai chi. After warm up, the class entered this “yin” state of long held poses that relaxed and stretched the body. At the same time, the mind scanned the body and released tension, while yielding to gravity. If you attended the workshop, please consider leaving a comment below of you experience. Thanks!

On Second Thought – We’re closing for today. I made it to the studio to teach the 10am class to two intrepid yogis. The power was off, and it got increasingly cold. As I drove home, through more new snow, the driving was more difficult. So, I’ve decided to close for the remainder of Thursday Jan 19.
That’s cancelling the Pilates SERIES, Gentle Yoga, and the 102 SERIES. We’ll figure out how to make up those classes later. It’s Friday, Jan 20, about 1pm. I plan on being here for the 5:30 pm Beginner 101 SERIES, and 7pm DROP IN Restorative, unless we get an ice storm or lose power. Right now the roads are passable and the lights are on.
It’s Tuesday January 17, and the snow is steadily piling up in Snohomish with predictions of much more. We decided to close the studio in the spirit of yogic principles: “tell the truth” – it’s really snowing! and “do no harm” – let’s be safe and stay home where we are warm and cozy. Moderation [...]
